Life's How You Feel

Life does not consist mainly, or even largely, of facts and happenings. It consists mainly of the storm of thought that is forever flowing through one's head.

I am sure Mark Twain was conscious of the fact that 'facts and happenings' affect one's 'storm of thought', but probably what he is alluding to is that one's 'storm of thought' may also be autonomous.
